Reminders

Recurring chores, one-off tasks, appointments — set reminders for anything and assign them to household members.

Every household runs on a web of recurring tasks that are easy to overlook until they're overdue. Change the HVAC filter. Pay the water bill. Schedule the dog's vet visit. These things don't happen on their own — and when you live with other people, it's rarely clear whose job they are. Tandem's shared reminders fix both problems at once.

You can create a reminder for anything and assign it to any household member. Recurring reminders come back automatically on your chosen schedule — daily, weekly, monthly, or a custom interval — so you set them once and never have to remember to set them again. One-off reminders work just as well for the things that only happen once.

Because reminders are shared, everyone in the household sees the same list. That visibility reduces the "did you do the thing" check-ins and makes it easy to see at a glance what's upcoming and who's responsible for what.

How it works

  1. 1

    Create a reminder

Give it a name, a due date, and optionally a recurrence pattern. Weekly, monthly, every two weeks — any schedule you need.

  2. 2

    Assign it

Assign the reminder to yourself or to another household member. The assignee sees it clearly in their view.

  3. 3

    Mark it done

When the task is complete, mark it done. For recurring reminders, the next instance is automatically created for the next scheduled date.

  4. 4

    Stay ahead on the calendar

Upcoming reminders appear on Tandem's shared calendar, so you can see the week ahead and catch anything that's about to come due.

Frequently asked questions

Can I set a reminder to repeat automatically?
Yes. When creating a reminder you can choose a recurrence pattern — daily, weekly, monthly, or a custom interval. After you mark a recurring reminder as done, the next one is created automatically.
Can I assign a reminder to a specific person?
Yes. Every reminder can be assigned to any member of your household. The assigned person sees it in their personal view, and the whole household can see who's responsible.
Do reminders appear on the calendar?
Yes. All reminders show up on Tandem's shared household calendar alongside bill due dates and birthdays, so you have one place to see what's coming up.
What happens when I mark a recurring reminder as complete?
The current instance is marked done and a new instance is automatically scheduled for the next recurrence date. You don't have to recreate the reminder each time.
Can I see reminders assigned to other household members?
Yes. All reminders are visible to the whole household. You can filter to see just your own reminders, but the shared view is always available.
